Reality TV star and entrepreneur Anita “Tacha” Akide has made history, earning two Guinness World Records for the most cosmetic makeovers in eight hours (82) and in 24 hours (144), a groundbreaking feat that cements her as a global force in beauty and creativity.
The marathon, held on October 11, 2025, at the John Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History in Lagos, tested every ounce of her endurance. Despite torrential rains and repeated power outages, Tacha persevered, transforming her glass-walled makeup booth into a live spectacle of grit and glam as fans gathered to cheer her on.
Speaking after her confirmation, Tacha said the challenge was “born from resilience.”
“Makeup has always been my safe space,” she shared. “My mother disapproved when I was little, but I never stopped. I wanted to prove that African women can lead, create, and inspire at a global level.”
Tacha’s achievement dethrones Sierra Leone’s Mary Yongai, who previously held the 24-hour record with 111 makeovers.
With her team led by project manager Seun “Otunba” Oluyemi Anthony, Tacha dedicated the win to “every girl who’s ever been doubted, a reminder that greatness can rise from anywhere.”
