Nigeria’s Super Eagles delivered a blockbuster performance in Rabat on Thursday night, defeating Gabon 4–1 in extra time to keep their World Cup dream blazing. The CAF World Cup qualifier, played at the Moulay Hassan Stadium on November 13, 2025, unfolded like a Nollywood thriller with pressure, redemption, and pure Nigerian fire.

For most of the regular time, it looked like a slim 1–0 escape after Akor Adams pounced on a defensive error in the 78th minute. But football has its own jazz. Gabon’s Mario Lemina stunned the Eagles with an 89th-minute equalizer, dragging the clash into extra time and rattling Nigerian fans from Lagos to Kano.

Then came the storm.

In the 97th minute, Chidera Ejuke smashed home a brilliant finish after a smart setup from Wilfred Ndidi. The goal reignited Nigeria’s rhythm—and opened the gate for Victor Osimhen’s takeover. After missing a crucial one-on-one late in regular time, Osimhen rewrote the script with swagger, scoring in the 102nd and 110th minutes to seal the win.

It was vintage Osimhen: power, grit, and big-game energy.

The Super Eagles now soar into Sunday’s final, awaiting Cameroon or DR Congo. The winner will book a ticket to next March’s inter-continental playoffs—one step closer to the World Cup stage Nigeria is hungry to reclaim.
