Nollywood star Regina Daniels has forcefully denied allegations by her estranged partner, Senator Ned Nwoko, after he blamed her inner circle for undermining her rehabilitation and linked them to substance misuse.

In a string of Instagram Story posts dated November 9, 2025, Daniels acknowledged past drug use but accused Nwoko of distorting the truth and exploiting her struggles for public advantage. “You lie so brazenly and without remorse,” she wrote, insisting her family and friends had nothing to do with any attempts to derail her recovery. “You have always tried to cut them off because of the bond we share,” she added.

Daniels said Mr. Nwoko repeatedly raised the “drugs” narrative in public whenever they fought because it suited a media-friendly storyline. “Yes, I used drugs. But that is not the heart of our problem,” she wrote, accusing the senator of trying to isolate her by making those close to her appear culpable so she would be left “with no friend, no support, no safe place to turn to.”

The actress leveled serious counter-accusations, alleging that Nwoko had encouraged substance use for sexual reasons and that he had subjected her to both physical and psychological abuse. In one post, she claimed he confiscated her phones to restrict contact with family and allegedly pressured medical staff to administer powerful psychiatric drugs. “Stop using the ‘drugs’ narrative to distract people,” she wrote.

Daniels also disputed the legal status of their relationship, saying there was no formal marriage certificate and that a divorce filing would have been unnecessary if a legal union had existed. “Marriage is not by force,” she said.

The posts closed with a note of personal resilience. Daniels thanked supporters and said she had found strength amid a “messy” public fallout.

Representatives for Senator Nwoko had not responded to requests for comment at the time of publication. Both sides’ claims, serious and personal in nature, underscore an ongoing and volatile public dispute that observers say will likely continue to play out on social media and in the courts.
